a warm welcome to you from the beautiful small village Süderlügum, which is located close to the Danish border.
The name „Süderlügum“ formerly meant the south part of an ancient cloister. The north part is in Danmark today.
Süderlügum has its first documented roots in the year 1177 and our beautiful „Marienkirche“ (Mary’s church) still contains an old baptismal font out of the 12. century .
There are different doctors, pharmacies, and lots of small shops that are opened at the weekend as well. Additionally our village provides a heated open air bath, several sports fields, three tennis courts, two bowling alleys, and possibilities for riding horses. If you’d like to go out for lunch or dinner, you will be delighted by the many possibilites of tasting our traditional north frisian meals. You can forget about distraction and hectics and enjoy the wideness and naturalness of our region. The maritime climate will strengthen your health against bronchial diseases and gives you the deserved regeneration.
Just hike some hours in our forests or cycle through the wide fields to see the untouched nature (we also lend out bicycles). Anglers and sun seekers will be pleased as well as friends of nature, who can undertake walks in the fascinating wadden sea. These activities will be lead by our local wadden sea guides.
Note: In Süderlügum, you cannot only shop in the evening or at the weekend, but also when there is holiday.
